Welcome to the village of Hennepin, Illinois! We are located in the beautiful Illinois Valley, about 45 miles north of Peoria on the bluffs above the Illinois River. The county seat of Putnam County, Hennepin was incorporated in 1837.

We form the center hub within the Illinois metropolitan areas of Rockford, Chicago, Joliet, Bloomington-Normal, Peoria and the Quad Cities.
