Parks in Hennepin
Hennepin has many beautiful parks and nature areas to enjoy. See the map and details below. Hennepin recreational areas have been abiding by the Tobacco-Free Park Policy since 2014.
- Walter Durley Boyle Park
Walter Durley Boyle Park is a 2.5 acre Village owned park located across from the Putnam County Courthouse. There is a shelter with 15 picnic tables. The shelter has roll down sides in case of inclement weather. There are restroom and drinking fountains next to the picnic shelter. The park also has playground equipment, a volleyball court and a horseshoe pit. - Hazel Marie Boyle Park
Hazel Marie Boyle Park is a Village owned park just north of Durley Boyle Park and has a water fountain and benches. The park was dedicated in 1995 and provides a pleasant place to sit with the fountain and the plantings that are throughout the park. - Ernest Bassi Park
Ernest Bassi Park is Village owned and is on East High street adjacent to the Village Hall. There is playground equipment, restrooms and picnic facilities available. - Hennepin Park District & Indoor Swimming Pool
Hennepin Park District operates indoor and outdoor facilities on Milan Street. They have an indoor olympic size pool that is handicapped accessible. Outdoors there are soccer fields, tennis courts and picnic facilities. - Hennepin Landing
Hennepin Landing is owned and maintained by the Village of Hennepin. This is the only boat launch in Hennepin for the Illinois River. There are 2 paved ramps and 16 docking spots. There is ample parking for boats and trailers and restroom facilities are available. - Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is next to where the old bridge crossed the Illinois River and has docks available for fishing and boat parking. Theses fishing docks are handicap accessible. There are picnic and restroom facilities available. - Donnelley Wildlife Preserve
North of Hennepin is the Donnelley Wildlife Preserve operated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The preserve covers 300+ acres and contains Coleman and Dore Lakes. At certain times of the year it is open for hunting duck, squirrel, pheasant and rabbit. - Hennepin Elementary School
Recreation facilities at the school include 3 baseball diamonds, a basketball court, a soccer field, and playground equipment. - Hennepin Boat Launch
Hennepin Boat Launch is owned and maintained by the Village of Hennepin. This is the only boat launch in Hennepin for the Illinois River. There are 2 paved ramps and 16 docking spots. There is ample parking for boats and trailers and restroom facilities are available. - River View Park diamonds
River View Park is a 1.2 acre park with no amenities.
