Hennepin Wetland Becomes Better Hiking Site
The boardwalk at The Wetland Initiative’s Hennepin and Hopper Lakes is now complete, giving onlookers a greater opportunity to immerse themselves in nature.
The approximate half-mile trail is made of crushed gravel through the dry prairie areas and raised boardwalk through the wetlands portions. The trail leads from the observation tower to the parking lot of the boat launch.
“It’s great,” Laura Urban, development director at The Wetlands Initiative, said. “I think it’s really going to improve the visitor experience.”
