Fantastic 4th of July Celebration

Even with the extreme heat, Hennepin’s 4th of July Celebration was complete with music, bags, games, petting zoo and water fights with the Hennepin Fire and Rescue for children and outstanding fireworks over the Illinois River.

People were rocking in the afternoon with Katie and the Minors. Later in the day Road Angel closed out the evening with a terrific performance. Everyone enjoyed watching the Panteras perform along with the Little Panteras.

A special moment was watching Hazel Weddell and Shirley Boggio receive the Citizen of the Year awards from Mayor Kevin Coleman.

The bags tournament saw 29 people play.

Putnam County FFA served their pork chop dinners with proceeds going to the Bill Biagi FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund.

The evening sky was spectacular for all. The fireworks were second to none!

The Village of Hennepin and the 4th of July committee is very grateful to everyone who helped with the celebration. We’ll see you all next year!
