Hennepin Students Receive Fire Truck Rides as Safety Reward

Hennepin Fire Department on Friday surprised three Putnam County Elementary School students by coming to their homes and giving them a ride to school in a fire engine.

They were greeted by principal Michael Olsen  after they arrived at school. The three — Emily Bruch, fifth grade; Erin Brooker, third grade; and Cristal Correa, fourth grade — received the ride as a prize for submitting the best fire escape plans for their homes, according to the fire department’s Quentin Buffington.
