Seniors to Receive Poinsettias Dec. 15

Rotarians will once again be loading the sleighs on Sat. morning, Dec. 15, to deliver nearly 700 Christmas poinsettia plants to senior citizens throughout Granville, Standard, Mark, Hennepin, McNabb, Magnolia, and the surrounding areas of Putnam County served by the Granville Rotary Club. Members of the Putnam County High School Interact Club will again help with deliveries.

The Christmas Poinsettia Project is made possible by the kindness of the VanWingerden Family and Mid-American Growers, who generously donate the plants for this annual tradition, offering holiday greetings to our senior neighbors in the true spirit of the Christmas season.

Area residents over age 65 anticipating the arrival of plants are asked to be home, or to leave delivery instructions on Dec. 15, as the plants cannot be left unprotected from the weather.

Seniors new to the area, having recently moved, or having earned their “senior distinction” within the past year and wishing to confirm their inclusion on the Rotary Poinsettia gift list, may contact Rotarian Tom Simmons at 339-6100 or TJSimm@Dave-World.net.

Granville Rotary and Mid-American Growers join in extending early wishes for health, happiness, and enjoyment of this coming holiday season.
