Wal-Mart Donates Grant to PCHS

Wal-Mart of Spring Valley graciously donated a grant of $2500 to Putnam County High School this October. As college and career readiness will be the focus of the new secondary core standards, current educational strategies call for the fluent use of technology in the classroom. As a result, Putnam County High School has chosen to use the grant to implement one of the latest technological resources for students use across the school curriculum.

After conducting adequate research, PCHS chose to purchase a set of ten Apple iPad tablet PCs with the Wal-Mart Community Grant. With the tablets, teachers will be able to continue to integrate new technology into their daily lessons. Additionally, the students of PCHS will be able to use the iPad applications for individual/collaborative activities, in-class discussions, research and other everyday practices.
