4th of July Celebration 2015
"Thunder on the Illinois", Hennepin’s 39th July 4th celebration, will include many events during the day, culminating with a spectacular fireworks display over the Illinois River at 9:30 p.m.
4th of July Poster
The day will begin at 7:30 a.m. with “Movin’ for Music,” a 5K run/walk sponsored by the PC Music Boosters followed with a pancake & sausage breakfast from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at the Hennepin Pool.
The 12th Annual Cruise-In will be noon-4:00 p.m. at Bassi Park.
Water fights for children with the Hennepin Fire and Rescue Department will be at 12:30 p.m. along with inflatables and “Shoot the Red Star” at Boyle Park.
The bags tournament will begin with registration at 11:30 a.m.
The PC Community Center will sponsor BINGO in the shelter from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Several food vendors will be set up in the park, including the PC FFA Alumni (scholarship fund) serving pork chop dinners.
The PC Historical Society will be presenting a dramatic presentation "Soldier, Come Home" at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. at the Courthouse. Admission is free.
Musical entertainment this year includes “Simply Patsy”, a tribute to Patsy Cline by Mary Pfiefer at 5:30 followed by the band “Snapshot” from 8:00-Midnight on the Courthouse steps.
