Emergency Crews Respond to Fire in Steel Plant
Hennepin Fire Department crews responded at 2:45 p.m. Friday to a reported fire at the old steel mill.
When the Hennepin crews arrived, they found a fire in the basement of plant in the electrical panel.
Emergency crews, including help from Putnam County Emergency Services personnel and Standard emergency responders, worked for about an hour to make sure the fire was extinguished.
The scene was then turned over to the plant managers.
No injuries were reported and all damage was isolated to the electrical panel.
