Hennepin Steel Mill Buildings Demolition Continues

One of the old LTV Steel buildings, which housed the former pickle line, most recently purchased by Hennepin Industrial Development, LLC, is on its way down.

As reported in an earlier edition of the NewsTribune, several subcontractors are working for the company to raze the building, most recently working on the front portion to scrap out the building materials.

At the time of the previous story, Bill Marino, Hennepin Industrial Development manager indicated the process was taking place to revitalize the site to make room for new industry. He did not share any future plans at the time, choosing to wait until later in the project to make any announcements.

An Operating Engineers Local 150 picket has remained at the site while the demolition takes place.
