Putnam County Parishioners Celebrate Fatima Centennial

This past weekend, parishioners of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hennepin and Sacred Heart in Granville celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first apparitions at Fatima.

The celebration started with all-night adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from Friday evening until Saturday morning, followed by celebration of the Holy Mass at 8 a.m.

At the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, dozens of parishioners completed their 33 Days to Morning Glory Marian Retreat by consecrating themselves to Jesus through Mary. Following the 4 p.m. Mass, parishioners from both St. Pat’s and Sacred Heart held a Marian candle procession through the streets of Granville. During the procession, Marian hymns were sung and Father Pat Demuelemeester led all in recitation of the rosary.
