4th of July in Hennepin
On the Fourth of July at Hennepin, it was all relaxation and fun and games before the more serious business of celebrating the nation’s independence with fireworks and more.
The day of activities got rolling with the annual Independence Day Cruise in the park two blocks east of the courthouse, and a 24-person, 48-team bags tournament on the shaded courthouse lawn.
As bands prepared to play, children escaped the heat by competing in fire-hose water fights, with help from Hennepin firefighters. And families escaped the sun by playing bingo in the shelter in the park.
