Hennepin Mayor Kevin Coleman Retires After 28 Years

Hennepin Village President Kevin Coleman was honored by the Village Board of Trustees during the April 2025 regular meeting. Coleman is retiring after 4 years as trustee and 28 years as Village President.

The trustees presented President Coleman with an engraved crystal award in appreciation of his service. Additionally, Coleman was presented with an Illinois House of Representatives Resolution. Quentin Buffington, who initiated the process of the Resolution, read the document which recognized many improvements to Hennepin during Coleman's tenure with the Village of Hennepin as well as his many years of service to the Hennepin Public Water District Board and local economic development organizations.

Coleman thanked the board and attributed his success to the trustees and clerks he worked with over the years.

"I'm the fortunate one for having been able to work with so many great people."

A retirement open house will be hosted by Kevin's family on Saturday, June 14 from 2-5PM at the Walter Durley Boyle Park Shelter in Hennepin. Friends and family are welcome.
