The schedule of events for Hennepin's 36th Annual 4th of July Celebration has been finalized! Join us for an unforgettable day. View the links below for all the details. Background on Hennepin's 4th of July Celebration 2012 Schedule of Events (PDF) 9th Annual Cruise-In Car Show Hennepin’s ninth annual Independence Day Cruise-In will be noon-4 PM Wednesday, July 4 at Ernie Bassi Park on High Street. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and vintage tractors are welcome and trophies will be awarded in several categories.  The first 25 entries will receive a free 50/50 ticket and the first 100 will receive a dash plaque.  Thirteen trophies will be given. Katie and the Minors to Play at 4th of July Celebration

Local Putnam County residents Katie Migliorini, Alan Augspols, Alyx Kemp, Brandon Mennie and Nick Kelsey have been playing for several years. They play various cover songs from all different artists including “Guns and Roses”, “Paramore”, “Jason Mraz” and many more. These young people have combined their love for music with each of their musical talents to create a band that is unique and entertaining for a variety of audiences. Plan on coming to Hennepin on July 4th and listen to this band from 1:00 – 3:00 .

Paint the Town Red, White, and Blue Contest

Hennepin's July 4th Committee presents their annual " Paint the Town Red, White and Blue " contest. Residents within the Village of Hennepin are invited to decorate your homes and yards with a patriotic theme and win cash prizes. Judging will take place the evening of July 3rd for lighted displays and during the morning of July 4th. Winners will be announced during the evening stage activities. First place will receive $75.00 , second place $50.00 and third place $25.00 .

2012 Citizen of the Year Awards Presented

Hennepin residents Hazel Weddell and Shirley Boggio were presented with the 2012 ‘Larry Wilt Citizen of the Year Award’ with a surprise announcement by Mayor Kevin Coleman following the Monday, May 28th Memorial Day Services held at Riverside Cemetery in Hennepin. Mayor Coleman will formally present both Weddell and Boggio with the Citizen of the Year Award on July 4th during the ceremonies on the courthouse stage.
